We review what we delivered in 2023, and give a sneak peek at what's to come in 2024.
What a year 2023 has been!
At HandsHQ, we constantly strive to adapt and respond to the evolving needs of our industry, and the past year has been a testament to this dedication. Today, we are excited to share the key updates that have shaped our products.
Training Register reporting
You asked - we listened. Training Register reporting was one of the most requested ideas by our customers. We believe it’s a game-changing update that's set to redefine how you handle training data.
No more dreading the task of detailing your team’s training expenses or drafting a training budget. Thanks to the Training Register, reporting on training costs and time estimates has become a seamless and hassle-free process. The new feature also lets you forecast upcoming expiring training, ensuring your workforce is always prepared.
Custom eLearning courses
If you’ve been following us for a while, you already know that we launched the iHasco eLearning integration some time ago in response to the transformed post-pandemic reality of online training. Our newest addition, custom eLearning courses, introduces an even more flexible way to arrange training for your workforce. It allows you to access eLearning courses from any provider, including those you've created yourself.
AI toolbox talks: a revolutionary leap
In 2023, the use of AI technology exploded, representing not only a technological leap but also a shift in how businesses and customers interact. We couldn’t stand aside, and last summer, we launched our most innovative product yet: the AI-powered toolbox talk generator. This uses OpenAI’s GPT-4 technology to create tailored, interactive toolbox talks for your team.
By inputting a few key details about your workplace and specific safety concerns, you'll create a customised toolbox talk that incorporates UK legislation and codes of practice, quizzes, group discussions, and hands-on demonstrations.
We encourage you to try it out – it’s available to everyone at no cost.
Our favourite improvements
Set role-level training as an optional requirement
This new feature adds the ability to assign not only courses that are required by the role, but also optional ones. This gives you the ability to mass-assign optional courses via the roles tab.
Individual IDs for personnel
To avoid confusion with common names, we've introduced a new field in personnel profiles for individual IDs for each person. The ID is searchable too.
Multiple roles: set primary role
If you assign multiple roles to your personnel, this feature is for you. We’ve added the ability to choose which role is the main one for your employees to allow for better prioritisation of training requirements.
Set up default course booking notes
Are you tired of manually adding the same notes when booking personnel onto a course? We've got you covered! Now, you can seamlessly notify enrolled individuals by setting default booking notes within the course settings.
Training Register API: added functionality
We launched Training Register API back in 2022 to help you easily integrate Training Register with third-party software.
In 2023, we added the possibility to assign primary roles and add employee IDs via the API as well. All of this will allow you to set up a better integration with other software you use, such as HR and Job management systems.
Hide PPE icons
It is now much easier to manage your PPE icons in settings. With this update, you have full control over which icons are visible, hidden, or pre-selected when creating your projects. If you want to hide certain PPE that you are unlikely ever to use (shin pads and football boots, we are looking at you!), this is the update you’ve been waiting for.
What’s coming in 2024?
Looking forward to 2024, we have several exciting updates planned: RAMS analytics dashboard, Training Register teams, personnel having access to their own records, and many more!
We are always looking for your feedback to ensure we are building the best products. Please keep proposing your ideas to our roadmap and vote for the features you’d like us to prioritise.
